The Birkenhead Show has certainly 'trod' the boards in its 50+ years, playing in four different theatres in Birkenhead, The Assembly Hall of Birkenhead Technical College, (which was renamed The Glenda Jackson Theatre), The Plaza Cinema, Pacific Road Theatre and the Gladstone Theatre (our current home), The Gaiety Theatre on the Isle of Man, The Liverpool Empire, in 2011 The Bloomsbury Theatre in London's West End - taking it back to where it all began and then in 2017 we retuned 50 years later back to the Gaiety Theatre.
Here in Birkenhead we thrive to continue to bring you exciting, fun and fresh material with the show every two years and as ever this wouldn't be possible without a fantastic team and an incredibly enthusiastic cast.
This years show, which runs from Wednesday 19th February to Saturday 22nd February 2025 has the theme of 'New Beginnings' with its New Producer Paul Coleman (not new to the show as he has been a member of the cast since his first show as a cub in 1973, and Assistant Producer since 2005!) New Chair Yvonne Hazlehurst and New Musical Director Paul Faithfull.
Producer Paul Coleman states – “Our 2025 Show will be an amazing blend of new items, a few old favourites but overall a really exciting feel to the show as we step into a new chapter for Birkenhead Gang Show! I am very proud of my involvement in the show over the last 50 plus years and pleased to be able to put together what I think is an amazing showcase of the talent we have in Birkenhead Scouts!"
